Global Witness, a non-profit organisation founded in 1993, conducts research and policy engagement on natural resource management. Staff have conducted studies in many resource-rich countries in Africa, Asia and South America, as well as research on extractive companies and banks based in the United States, Europe and other regions. Our expertise is of wide relevance to policy makers, researchers and companies in China where concerns include the commercial and reputational risk faced by investments and risk of insecurity for staff and assets in unstable or violent countries.

Global Witness is actively seeking links with relevant institutions within China, through the sharing of expert information and analysis and sustained dialogue to promote global environmental governance and stewardship of natural resources.
