UIC义工服务发展中心

United International College (UIC), situated in Zhuhai and jointly founded by Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), is the first full-scale cooperation in higher education between the Mainland and Hong Kong. Its charter has been approved by the Ministry of Education with full support from local authorities.

UIC shoulders the historical mission of advancing the internationalization of Chinese higher education and taking the lead in implementing liberal arts education in China. Since its first enrollment in 2005, UIC has grown into an international institution with innovative educational approaches.


Voluntary Service Development Center (VSDC)

VSDC offers Voluntary Service courses and summer programs, and Social Experience Education (SEE) activities, which provide platforms for students to serve people who they would rarely encounter in daily life. In addition the center assists student volunteer clubs to implement service projects on campus or in the local community.

Objectives:

– to implement service learning as an integral part of UIC’s Whole Person Education
– to encourage students’ continuous participation in voluntary services
– to develop students to be active and responsible community leaders in the future
– to develop partnerships with national and international volunteer organizations
